PRIVATE CHEF
As a private chef, I become a participant of the space being held. I dance in the seen and unseen. Hyper-awareness and diligence for the guests to feel at home is a necessity and the food being served is the greatest connector of all. I focus on local, seasonal, and loving foods. Foods that nourish us in the way it is picked, prepared, and plated. We eat with all our senses, so I find this to be of the utmost importance that the nourishment remains connected through the hands it touches.
Traveling Retreat Chef
A traveling chef is an avid adventurer. One who dives into the mystery of the next unfolding and simultaneously creates a bridge to connect the participants with the locality of the food. The culture of the food, and the medicine in which it brings. I will create a menu that’s local, seasonal, and use as many ingredients as possible from farms nearby.

Preparing food begins far before an ingredient is touched.
When you work with me, we start with a consultation to build an altar together.
I ask you questions like:
Dietary needs and restrictions or allergies
Ancestry overview
Cravings and aversions
Health concerns and goals
Eating style- snacks, meals, favorite meals
Comfort foods, foods that you notice support you
On an energetic and spiritual level- how are you feeling? Grounded and centered? Light and flow? Stagnant and confused?
Our ancestry, our relationship to food, and how we wish to feel are three main components when it comes to nourishing the mind, body, and spirit.
When you work with me, you are not only receiving food prepared with love. You are receiving a tapestry of what it means to be nourished on a cellular and energetic level.
Marisa’s relationship to food is intuitive and through the senses of touch, taste, sight, and the felt sense. She bases all her cooking classes, recipes and private events around the individual receiving the medicine of food. At a young age, she developed a spontaneous gift of listening to an individual's body and offering what it is needing. This is another form of communication that we all carry! Her style focuses on the plants, seasons, locality, and body constitutions. Marisa believes that each individual carries the wisdom of what they need inside their bodies, like a map directing them to foods that support their highest expression of life. She also teaches food (re)connection, a coaching and cooking class that invites you into examining your relationship to life itself through the relationship with food. In her company, you will feel welcomed in, excited to learn, and connect with that which sustains us in an entirely new light.
